My Window
You know the saying "When God closes a door somewhere he opens a window"? Well what about when you yourself close a door? Like, we all have times when we don't do exactly what God wants, and we close a door he would rather have us walk through. Well, this week I found out, to an extent.
I didn't go to church on Sunday cause quite frankly, I didn't want to. I was awake on time, had my make up on, was actually wearing clothes, all I woulda had to do is throw on a jacket and get there. But I just didn't feel like going. Possibly because me and God have been kinda distant anyways, so I just didn't care.
You know what he did? He brought the message to me. You know, the message he wanted me to hear, perhaps at church. I was minding my own business, browsing myspace, and all of a sudden I stumble across this blog that just rams itself into my heart and opens my eyes. It was a great piece of writing that caused me to look at myself, and question my motives for many things.
And then, last night I went to a punk rock show, maybe one of the last places you would look for Jesus, normally. However, we were just talking, a group of us, and then Barry just starts talking about the trinity, and The Davinci Code, and his beliefs and what God has been doing with and through the band. It almost brought me to tears. It was like God jumping up and down in front of me saying "HELLLLOOOOO! Here I am! You can't get rid of me that easily!"
I'm thankful for that. I need that. I want to start meeting him half way. Sometimes it's just so hard to get myself motivated. But, I mean SERIOUSLY! It's Jesus, God, the Spirit! As if that isn't insentive enough
